You have purchased an RV and are ready to take it on the road for a summer of fun and adventure. Once that summertime fun is over, however, you need to find a place to store your RV. Your Garage
You might think your garage is the ideal place to store your RV, and it might be, provided you have one large enough to fit it. It does keep your overall costs down if you store your RV in your garage, and keeping it inside protects it from weather damage that it can receive from snow and cold. It's also nice and handy to have your RV nearby.
The drawbacks of parking it in your garage, however, is that it will definitely take up pretty much all the space in it. This means no room for your car, snow blower, bike, or lawn mower. It can also bring unwanted creatures like mice and bugs into your garage.
Your Driveway
You might think storing your RV in your driveway might be a good idea for you, as it won't take up any room in your garage that you need to store other things. It won't cost you anything to store it here, and it will be easy to gain access to your RV, should you need to.
On the other hand, your neighbors might not like to see it every day and for that matter, you might not want to either. You will have to protect it from cold weather conditions that can damage your RV or camper so you don't have to spend money to repair it later. You could put it in a carport, but that will be an extra expense. Your RV is more open to theft if you leave it outside as well.
Covered Storage Facility
The most popular method of storing your RV is to place it in a covered storage facility. Your vehicle is parked outside under a roof or awning that offers it protection from harsh winter conditions. It is the best choice if you are storing it long-term. The covered storage facility typically has a fenced-in area where the RVs are kept, which decreases the chances of your RV being broken into or vandalized, and it does cost less than an indoor storage facility.
